Joanna allows pattern and surface to guide her form. Many years of accumulated knowledge and understanding of how glass moves in its molten state, how colours work, and their subtleties in combination with one another have challenged and inspired Joanna technically.

Seashells, corals, and many types of marine life as well as intricate skins of insects and flora have been the main source of inspiration. Some of the forms are sympathetic to the movement of gelatinous invertebrates that inhabit our oceans, while others work as a simple platform for the complexity of surface.
