Gillian’s work is inspired by the toxic beauty found in nature, especially in our oceans. Part of the jewellery is made by machine embroidering onto soluble stabilizer, using a fragile metallic thread to capture the unnatural colours found in oil slicks. ‘I have tried to emulate the organic shapes of moving colour’. The earrings are made with titanium and sterling silver for the metal elements and sterling silver for the hooks and posts.
