Originally a graphic designer, Mika developed her jewellery making skills working with silver. She started designing pieces for her mum but, over time, her mum found heavier-weight jewellery less comfortable to wear and some of the clasps and closures difficult to maneuver. Hence the idea of working with softer materials was birthed and Mika started to create with soft non-toxic sponge rubber which is incredibly lightweight. She also included magnetic clasps making the pieces easier to put on and take off.

Mika's designs pair well with minimal or maximal styles and there is not a design I have seen from her yet that I haven’t loved.
